Ever Wonder Why There Hasn’t Been A Black Woman On SNL Since Maya Rudolph? Well, Kenan Thompson Thinks…

…that there is a lack of funny Black women! Apparently, in recent auditions for the 39 year old sketch comedy show, “they just never find ones that are ready.” Um, or maybe the casting directors haven’t looked long and hard enough? Debra Wilson, Loni Love, Tiffany Haddish, Franchesca Ramsey, Marina Franklin, I could go on…

Now, I don’t know if there is also a lack of wanting to be on SNL as well. I’m sure that there are some Black funny females that might not want to be featured on SNL for their own personal reasons. But, no one can convince me that there is a lack of funny Black women or that one can’t be found funny enough to be a featured player on the show. At least Jay Pharoah has some sense.

I’ll just continue to watch the funnier, more relevant, and more diverse Awkward Black Girl.

I like you Kenan, but I'm done with this.
