Change, change, change

A note:

I’ve been gone for quite a while….

…but I’m back and you will notice some changes to this site.

I’m on a mission to write and share content that is more aligned with inspiring and helping others. As much as I love reading about the latest in pop culture and entertainment news, I’m in more in love with helping others love themselves. It’s clear that we are now living in a world that we don’t recognize anymore. You may feel confused, distraught or scared lately. Up is down and down is up. But there are many lights in the darkness to seek solace in and draw hope from. One of the best ways to combat your fears is to take care of yourself, especially so that you are in a position to take better care of others. Your wealth is in your health.

You will still find news about entertainment on my website. However, this news will be paired with issues surrounding health, wellness and fitness. My site will be a place to discover who’s on the latest cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers Magazine or to find out if SugarBearHair Website vitamins are really as great as Khloe Kardashian claims. From product testing to body image, recipes, book reviews, interviews with athletes and more, I will strive to make my website a place of enlightenment and inspiration.

To my faithful followers- thank you for hanging in there. To my new readers- welcome! For everyone- get ready to have fun, learn… and love.

Ones To Keep An Eye On- The Evolution of Sky Ferreira

When I first heard about Sky Ferreira, all I knew was that she was barely seventeen, ambitious as hell, and friends with Michael Jackson. Her music was percolating during the era of MySpace when Charli XCX and Marina and the Diamonds were also perfecting their skills in the studio and on stage, and Lily Allen had already found deserving fame and fortune. I don’t think anyone could have predicted the evolution of Sky from this:

It’s a brilliant evolution and not one that I believe has been fabricated or planned. Judging from the best, most recent article I’ve read about Sky Ferreira from Vulture, she has struggled to have her voice heard for many years, even before becoming a famous pop-rock star. So many actresses and singers go through the whole “I’m a woman now” metamorphosis, to the point where it now induces a sense of boredom and jaded apathy about the whole affair. But, Sky’s evolution from girl to woman is more intuitive. You want this girl to win and to keep using her voice on her own terms. I don’t know what her next album will entail or which fashion designer will scoop her up for their next campaign, but Sky is certainly one to keep an eye on and ears out for.

After years of waiting, Sky’s debut album “Night Time, My Time” is out and waiting for you! It ranks high on my list of albums to listen to in 2013. I can’t wait to get it and jam on repeat.
