This Weekend Indulge in “Aladdin”

“But oh, to be free. Not to have to go “Poof! What do you need, “Poof! What do you need, Poof! What do you need?”. To be my own master. Such a thing would be greater than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world. But what am I talking about? Let’s get real here, that’s never gonna happen. Genie, wake up and smell the hummus.”

In honor of Robin Williams’s passing, the Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior will air one of the best Disney animated features of all time, “Aladdin”, this weekend.

Live free, dream on, and have faith.

Remembering Biggie Smalls

Yesterday, on March 9th, 17 years ago Biggie Smalls was murdered. Since then, and thereafter 2Pac’s death as well, rap music has never felt the same for me. There are very, very few rappers who moved me like Biggie did. I will never forget the first time I heard “Life After Death” and “Ready to Die” in their entirety. I remember sitting in various rooms of my house and playing them on repeat for days on end. Rap and Biggie told tales of lives that I would never know, but could empathize with. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for a lot of rap music today.

R.I.P BIG. You will never be forgotten. Your talent is still making sure of that.

#TBT Song of the Day- “Zombie” by The Cranberries

I’m not sure what made me think of this song yesterday but suddenly the familiar refrain “in your heeeeead, in your heeeeaaaaad” popped into my head. Memories of listening to “Zombie” at least five times a day along with that one scene in Clueless where Elton asks to find his Cranberries CD on the quad before someone snags it then followed. So, I must share this song with you on another glorious Throwback Thursday!
